Project 1: Walk Cycle Animation
Our task is to create both a vanilla walk cycle and an attitude walk, while also identifying the key poses for contact, passing, down, and up.
Vanilla Walk Cycle
A vanilla walk cycle is a basic animation sequence that illustrates the motion of a character walking. It's a fundamental element in animation, serving as a foundation for more complex sequences involving walking or running characters.
For this project, I used Snow, the character rig from Blender. I started by keyframing the contact poses, followed by the passing pose, and then the down and up poses. We went through vanilla walk in class so that was easier to do with the teaching provided.

Attitude walk cycle
Moving on to the attitude walk was a bit smoother thanks to the experience I gained from the vanilla walk cycle. However, one of the challenges remained which is to ensure that the shoulders moved naturally and that the hips had a realistic swing. To enhance my understanding and fine-tune the animation, I consulted a YouTube tutorial that provided valuable insights on how to properly animate a walk cycle.
After going through different attitude, I chose anger for my attitude walk.

I started with keying down the poses.

While I'm at it, I also move forward his neck to make him look more angry as well as giving angry expression.
With the walk cycle done, I stage the background and adjusted the lighting.
