Final Project: Animated Infographics

Our final project is also a group project, and we are required to create an animated infographic video about burnout experienced by university students. First of all, we went on and did some group research about burnout.

With the information that we need on burnout, we then began to break down the script provided to us. We noted down the timing of each part on google sheet and discussed about what visuals would look fitting for each scene. The full breakdown can be found by clicking onto here.

After each of us picked on the parts we want to work on. We started to work on the animatic which will be used as reference for the final project. I had two parts to work on and this below is my draft.

Moodboard

After we're done with the animatics, we started working on the moodboard so that we can use for inspiration for the final project as well as making sure of the consistency of the video.

After using the moodboard as inspiration for the project, we came out with the character design. We have two main characters, one is the bright girl who is motivated and energized while the other one is burnout.

After we're done with the character design, we started working on vectorizing them as well as some assets that might be useful.

Since the vectorizing part was done, I started working on my portion of the work.

With this, my portion of the work was complete and I waited for the rest of my teammates to finish their parts. After that, we put the whole video together, and the result can be seen below.

Burnout Experience

When I first experience burnout, it was around 3 years ago when the pandemic started. I was not used to staying at home attending online classes as I've never experience anything like that. It was worrying since I couldn't focus on my studies nor could I learn much from online class. I got very anxious since there were only a few months before my final SPM exam. I kept feeling unprepared for the exams because online classes was nowhere as efficient as physical classes plus my teachers were all not used to this new way of teaching as well which made it harder for both the teachers and students to have a functional class without any technical difficulty happening. I was stressed and I kept forcing myself to study all day, everyday. Eventually, I got burnout. Nothing was going into my head nor did I have any more motivation to study. I felt like everything was useless and that I would not get good grades anyway so I gave up. Thankfully I have friends that were facing the same problem as me so we tried to study together and share notes with one another so in the end I got motivated again and did good in my exam.
