Final Project: Self-Titled

For this final project, we needed to create a 1080 x 1920 px  (I.G reel/ story size) poster about ourselves. This poster also have to be animated afterwards, then it will be posted on Youtube short. We were given a google slides file to so that it will be easier for us to record our progress.

In the first stage we are asked to write a simple biography and statement about our work. Here is the summary of both of them.

After that, we had to look for inspiration and references for the poster we wanted to create. I found a few from Pinterest that had had the similar style that I was going for.

Since I've seen some reference posters and had a gist of what I wanted for my poster. So I came out with some sketches.

Based on the sketches, I created the my poster on photoshop. I started with cropping out the main photo which is me out of the original photo so that I could arrange it into the frames I want. From there, I added in the other elements that I prepared.

Final Outcome

This is the final outcome of the two posters I came out with. I liked both of them and it was nice to see how well it turned out.

After thinking it through, I decided to go with the first design as it looked more interesting and it has more meaning to it while representing some elements of myself. Since I've decided to go with the first design, I started with the animating process.

Using the skills I've learnt from the exercise during Week 10, I started animating the poster in After Effects. Since I've done some animating in after effects before, I was able to finish it smoothly without too much hassle. I was also able to find some interesting sound that would fit in my video. 

Here is the final video with music to go along with it. The song in the video is called Dreams by Gil Wanders. I also added in some sound effects such as plane flying pass and photo snapping sound.
