Week 3

This week we were introduced to photoshop 2. In the class we learnt about
  1. Lasso tool
  2. Pen tool
  3. Layering
We also learnt about blending tools such as
  • Paths - Path is a line with anchor points at any end. It can be a straight line or it can be curved so that it can form into the shapes of the objects that we need.
  • Masking - Masking is a way to hide away parts of an image or layer without erasing them.
  • Layering - Layers help to stack images on top of other images without interacting and mixing the pixels of images.

Project 1B: Digital Collage
  1. Download all of the images provided.
  2. Follow the tutorial demo as reference provided.
  3. Create 3 different composition digital collages from the images provided.
  4. Create A4 canvas size  (vertical) on Photoshop and start to do the compositions.
  5. Take 3 photo of my digital collage compositions.
Digital Collage:
Collage#1

I wanted to make it have an aquarium vibe since there was some images of fishes provided so I decided to make use of it. I used the typewriter as a decoration for the "aquarium". People who keep fishes usually put plants in the aquarium to enhance water quality and I took that as an inspiration and added plants in the collage. It also act as a hiding spot for the fish which can be seen in the photo. I used the rule of thirds while making this collage to make it look balanced and well arranged.

Collage#2

I saw a projector and I wanted to create something out of it so this is what I came out with. The black and white images coming out of the projector represent the film that it's playing. I chose black and white because by looking at the projector, it might've been from the old times where films are still in black and white. For this collage, I also used the rule of thirds to make it look pleasant.

Collage#3

For this collage, I wanted to challenge myself and use the golden ratio instead of rule of thirds for the arrangement so I came out with this collage. It's another aquarium themed but it turned out pretty well.

Week 4 : 22 /9 /22
This week we learn about Introduction to Photoshop 3. In this class we learned about adjustment layer and filters.

INSTRUCTION:
  1. Attach your best composition from WEEK 3 digital collage exercise below.
  2. Using the same Photoshop file, improvise your WEEK 3 digital collage into WEEK 4 by using Adjustment Layers & Filters on Photoshop.
  3. Explain what you’ve learned in the description section.

WEEK 3 - PEN TOOL EXERCISE (BEST COMPOSITION)
Description:
I learned that using the rule of third can make an image more satisfying and pleasant to look at.

WEEK 4 -(ADJUSTMENT LAYERS & FILTERS )
DESCRIPTION:
Siamese fighting fish are known to have different beautiful colors but blue was a very common color so I decided to change it by changing the hue and saturation to turn it to purple. Purple bettas are very rare therefore making it more unique. I made the plants more saturated so that it will have the neon effect to match with the bettas. The original color of the typewriter was tiffany blue which looked weird together with the neon green leaves so I changed the color to dark pink to create contrast. I also changed the keyboard on the typewriter to purplish to make it not look plain and blend in with the edits. I learned that changing the hue, saturation and filters for the images can make it look more unique and eye-catching.
